Homecoming wasn’t just about a concert and a soccer game.
One of the first events of Homecoming 2009 took place on Monday, Sept. 21. Quad Day consisted of a meal set up by Chartwells and a number of activities set up around the Quad. This event incorporated several things that pertained to this year’s theme: “Good Old-Fashioned Fun.’50s Style!”
The beautiful weather and laidback feel of Quad Day gave many students an opportunity to relax and spend time with friends.
Cara Crowley, president of the Student Activities Board, said that the group chose a theme for the week based on the vibe they hoped to create.
“We’re going for a more laid-back feel this year,” Crowley said.
In addition to the food, students also listened to music and participated, as the theme put it, in some “good old-fashioned fun.”
Quad Day also included two arcade games and several other activities.
Dan McFarlane of SAB said that they chose the games to go along with the old-fashioned theme. Some of the activities included hula- hoops, ladder ball and washers.
Overall, though the turn out may not have been as big as SAB would like, the students who did come gave a positive response to the events of Quad Day.
