Interim dean of the Saint Louis University Law School, Thomas Keefe, has made the decision to leave his position, as reported on Monday, March 4.
According to an article fromt the St. Louis Post-Dispatch as well as other local news sources, Keefe cited that his reasons for stepping down was not only that he did not feel academia was a good fit for him, but also because he was too politically-incorrect for his role. Keefe was reported to have made several statements regarded as inappropriate and made other comments allegedly perceived as sexual harassment during his time as interim dean.
SLU is currently in the process of looking for a permanent dean for the Law School. Keefe was placed in the role after the former dean, Annette Clark, resigned, citing various grievances with the SLU administration and Lawrence Biondi, S.J., president of SLU, in August of 2012.
The University has yet to release an official statement on the matter.
