SundayHouseClub hosted a daytime Coffee Party on Feb. 15 at Northwest Coffee Co., drawing dozens of attendees for an event that blended house music with specialty coffee.
Just before the event started, Northwest Coffee Co.’s baristas crafted delicious drinks and warmed up pastries for the line steadily looping around the store. Steady bass and the hum of the espresso machines reverberated through the indoor seating areas, turning a normally relaxed neighborhood coffee shop into a lively dance floor. For those who wanted to sit and sip, there was a peaceful and heated outdoor seating area, perfect for enjoying the day’s lovely weather.
Proven by the diverse and large crowd, the event had major appeal to many different groups. Families with young children stood and danced around while college students and older residents mingled and chatted. Local DJs JTista, Farfan, Zinska, Brandon Taj and Zhu Zhu set the soundtrack for the morning.

Their sets blended house beats with recognizable pop and hip-hop tracks, creating an atmosphere that resonated across generations. One notable moment came when DJ JTista mixed the 1990 hit “Ice Ice Baby” by Vanilla Ice with Troye Sivan’s “Rush.” The unexpected combination gathered cheers from the crowd and kept all ages engaged, reflecting SundayHouseClub’s goal of creative, inclusive spaces that move beyond traditional nightlife settings.
SundayHouseClub is a concept by PulxeSTL that was created to “redefine your Sunday morning with coffee, music and community,” according to the organization’s promotional materials. The group hosts monthly events designed to bring people from across St. Louis together to enjoy family-friendly music and dance in daytime settings.
Many SundayHouseClub events take place within walking distance of Saint Louis University’s main campus, including this recent gathering at Northwest Coffee Co. and a previous event at SweetArt Bakery. For SLU students looking for ways to socialize without the bar scene, these events offer lively daytime alternatives.
As SundayHouseClub continues to expand its presence in the city, events like the Coffee Party suggest that the dance floor is no longer reserved for after dark.
The next Coffee Party will take place on March 15, with tickets being sold on PulxeSTL’s website.
