On Thursday, Jan. 27 in the Saint Louis Room of Busch Memorial Center, Jim Breuer performed to a standing-room only, capacity filled room.

Despite Breuer’s age of 32, his appearance and demeanor were that of a typical Saint Louis University student.

Breuer readily tapped into St. Louis pride with references to the professional sports teams of both the Cardinals and the Rams.

Rallying support for the Super Bowl Champion Rams, Breuer posed the question, what is a Titan? He also made reference to Mark McGwire’s physical size and athletic prowess.

KJ Koh, a sophmore at SLU, is a fan of Breuer. He noticed a significant difference in the style of the performance that he gave for SLU as opposed to his usual style.

“His performance at SLU was off the hook, but I was disappointed that he didn’t continue with his Half Baked style of comedy,” Koh said. Koh was disappointed that the movie which catapulted Breuer’s popularity was absent from his comedy routine.

Other students who attended the performance had an overall good reaction. According to Jenny Nasrallah, “The performance by Jim Breuer was well worth SGA’s investment.”

Following Breuer’s performance was a meet-and-greet session at the pub in the Billiken Club.

During the session Breuer welcomed students to talk to him personally.

Breuer showed his appreciation for the attendance at his show by telling the students, “Thanks for hanging with me.”

Attendance at the pub was not as well received as his performance but students did join in the event.

After Thursday’s performance, many students who did not attend the performance regretted their decision.

Monica Cabbabe was one of those students who did not attend Breuer’s performance. When asked what she heard about the comedy show she said, “Most of my floor did attend and enjoyed it.”
