To the Editor:
On behalf of the American Cancer Society and the Relay For Life steering committee, we would like to thank the entire Saint Louis University community for helping to make the third annual Relay For Life of SLU such an amazing success! This event would not have been possible without our participants, team captains, speakers, performers, volunteers and advisors, as well as the faculty and staff of Saint Louis University and the entire SLU community!
Unfortunately, cancer is word that is heard too often. Whether you have been affected by the disease directly or had a family member or friend affected by the disease, it impacts us all. However, it was evident this past weekend that the SLU community is dedicated to finding a cure for cancer! The SLU community joined together this past weekend and upheld the Jesuit mission once again by celebrating life, serving others and raising more than $132,000 to benefit cancer research, advocacy programs, educational programs and patient programs. Yet, even more important, the dedicated efforts executed by the SLU community this past weekend symbolizes the HOPE that one day cancer will be eliminated. That is our dream!
Once again, thanks for your continuous support in making the American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Saint Louis University such an such a successful and amazing celebration of life and hope!
