To the Editor:
In recent months, it seems that there has been much less exposure in the newspapers about the war on terrorism. I can only guess that this is due to the monotonous, dreary aspect of writing another article that covers the war. I feel that this needs to change. Being related to servicemen, I feel that it is imperative to their survival that we don’t forget about them or their cause. There is absolutely no question in my mind whether the war on terrorism is a just cause. I believe that, very often, the war on terrorism and the war in Iraq are thought of as one in the same. They are, however, two very different conflicts.
Furthermore, I believe that our unsuccessful war with Iraq casts a dark shadow on our overwhelming success against terrorism. The War on Terror may have its roots deeply embedded in the scorching country of Iraq, but we have since spread out the fight to protect ourselves, as well as countries all around the world. Not writing about news in the War on Terror is no different than turning our back on the very defense that stands between the terrorists and our beloved freedom. We must not forget about our brothers, who are dying each and every day to preserve our very way of life.
